Jorge Querol Borras

Jorge Querol is a Research Associate in the SIGCOM Research Group of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability, and Trust (SnT) of the University of Luxembourg. He coordinates the new research and teaching activities of the ISM SATCOM Lab.

He received his B.Sc. (+5) degree in Telecommunication and Electronics Engineering, his M.Sc. degree in Photonics, and the Ph.D. degree (Cum Laude) in Signal Processing and Communications from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech (UPC), in 2012, 2013 and 2018 respectively.

He was the recipient of the Best Academic Record award of the year in Electronics Engineering at UPC in 2012, the first prize at the European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) Barcelona Challenge from the European GNSS Agency (GSA) in 2015, and the best Ph.D. thesis award in Remote Sensing in Spain from the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing (GRSS) Spanish Chapter in 2019.

His research interests include Software Defined Radios (SDR), real-time signal processing, satellite communications, 5G non-terrestrial networks, satellite navigation, and remote sensing.
