The Cutting-Edge Technology Shaping Space Robotics

With an increasing amount of companies being able to put satellites up into orbit, having access to cutting-edge technology is a necessity to thrive in the space industry. SnT’s Prof. Miguel Angel Olivares-Mendez has been working together with partners in the industry in the development of new technologies and intellectual property.
In this article with Paperjam, Olivares-Mendez, head of the Space Robotics (SpaceR) research group at SnT is exploring the technology of autonomous, deep-space robots for exploration and in-situ resource utilisation (ISRU), as well as in-orbit servicing of spacecraft.
