Application process

The Interdisciplinary Space Master is open to 20 students per academic year. Admission is subject to selection.

 

Pre-applications:

If you are interested, we invite you to send the following documents in PDF format to the address: ISMapplications@uni.lu

  • a copy of the diploma or the certificate of achievement
  • a copy of all the transcripts obtained for the diploma
  • a proof of proficiency in English at B2 level (CEFR) or TOEFL with a total score of 100 or above and no score less than 25 in any single skill if you are not a native English speaker
  • a motivation letter
  • and two letters of reference

The first two documents above must be provided with a certified translation if they are written in a language other than French, German or English.

Application – Open from 1 February 2021:

1. Apply on the Uni.lu website

2. Send all documents via e-mail as indicated at the end of the online application process

3. Wait for the results of the selection process

4. Proceed to the payment of the fee for the first semester


To be considered for selection, all prospective students are required to apply online on the University website. After completing the online application process, all candidates will be redirected to a final page with detailed instructions and the link to the PDF version of their completed application form.

 

To finalise their application, they will be required to print, sign, scan and send the form to applications2020@uni.lu along with the following documents in PDF or JPEG format:

 

Passport photo

Format: color, 35×45 mm, JPEG or PDF

Identity card or passport

Format: JPEG or PDF

Academic records
  • University diploma (with apostille or double legalisation)
  • Translation of the university diploma, if the original version is in a language other than French, German or English (translated by a certified translator)
  • Itemised transcript of all marks obtained at time of application (with apostille or double legalisation)
  • Translation of the itemised transcript of all marks, if the original version is in a language other than French, German or English (translated by a certified translator)
Residence permit

(if available at time of application)

European health insurance card

Including the validity date. In alternative, a valid certificate of affiliation with the social security scheme (with mention of the validity date). This is not a mandatory requirement for non-European students.

Part-time form
  • Prospective part-time students need to enclose a filled, signed and scanned copy of the related request form (please note: only EU students are eligible to apply for part-time attendance).

We kindly ask all prospective students to follow the indications reported on the final page of the online application as to the format, dimensions and naming conventions of the above documents. Failure in doing so could cause delays in processing or even a rejection.

Decision

Once all documents are submitted, the applicants are evaluated by the ISM selection committee. Successful candidates can proceed to the payment of the tuition fee for the first semester.

Please note: students without an EU passport will need to request a student visa. The visa application procedure may take up to four months. We kindly ask non-European students to apply well ahead of the beginning of the academic year (September).
